It’s been a minute since our last yoga profile but it certainly was worth the wait. Ashanti Airbender is the latest yogi who we want to share with you our readers. Her flex bendy yoga practice does evoke air bending and her yoga yoga journey is interesting and inspirational. Read on to learn more about Ashanti Airbender a clothes free yogi we think you should know.

I took my first yoga class on February 23rd, 2010 with a teacher in San Ignacio, Belize (located in Central America). The Hatha yoga session taught by Katherine Devine stimulated my body, relaxed my mind and allowed my soul to experience an incredible level peacefulness unlike anything I felt before. All layers of my being were in complete harmony. I was experiencing utter bliss. I aimed to experience that indescribable level of joy always and that is what initially kept me returning to yoga.

Early on, the yoga postures revealed how weak, tight and off-balance my body was. The more advanced asanas intrigued me. I was determined to create more space in my body to experience greater freedom to move and be. Even though inversions terrified me, I was eager to overcome my crippling fear and be liberated. I practiced consistently to improve my physical strength. Along the way, my mental and spiritual strength also increased.

I teach one naked yoga group class weekly at 6:30PM Eastern time live online in collaboration with Body Path, a wellness business in Canada that focuses on inner transformation. The owner invited me to teach naked yoga for her business after seeing my nude yoga posts on Instagram. After my initial concerns were put to rest, I decided to to give it a try because I was open to doing something different that was outside my comfort zone that may further assist in my personal growth and development.

It certainly did that. I continue to teach naked yoga, including private sessions, because it is a sacred practice that helps others to accept their bodies and boost their self-esteem and confidence in their natural state. It helps people release shame, judgement, fear or criticism around their body and gives students the opportunity to begin loving the areas of their body that they are still struggling to accept and love.
