The journey begins

My journey with nude yoga began when I started my yoga journey. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis which triggered me to make a lifestyle change. I knew I wanted to take a holistic approach as I did not want to have to rely heavily on medication for my pain. At the time, I was also living a sedentary lifestyle. Working in the corporate world sitting at a desk all day. My doctor suggested that I begin working out along with changing my diet. So, I started off adding stretching daily to my routine.

As I was stretching and meditating one day, a download came to me to begin learning yoga. I started looking up yoga poses and researching about the practice. During my research, I realized that I was doing yoga this whole time before I even knew what it was! It was already in me! The whole time I was posing and stretching the way my body was telling me, I was doing yoga. That moment is when my yoga journey began. I practiced in my personal life for two years and saw the benefits of it. Health wise, it turned my health 180°.

Yoga is healing for me, and I wanted to extend that healing to others, so I enrolled in a certification course to teach. Overall yoga is more than physical, it’s mental, emotional, and spiritual. My life changed in all those areas because of yoga. I still am in awe of the woman I am today because of the impact yoga has made for me. It has completely shifted my trajectory, and I am excited to see where it will lead me.

BareSkin Yoga is a nude yoga practice that I created to provide a safe and welcoming space for those looking to practice yoga free from the layers of body shaming, self-judgment, and society’s negative views of nudity. This practice supports self-love, body positivity, and community. BareSkin Yoga offers the opportunity to experience physical, mental, and spiritual healing through movement, self-awareness, and the freedom of being nude.

Nudity, nudism and yoga

My journey with nudity has been a lifelong journey. I have always been a nudist in my home but about three years ago I grew to practicing in public spaces. Nude modeling for events is how I got into it. I rarely get to practice naturism, so my goal is to hit a nude beach this summer. My family and close friends are not surprised about me having a nude yoga business. They encourage and support me because they see the healing and freedom it gives me. I do this work to encourage others to have this experience and heal on a deeper level.

When I think of nudism, my mind always goes to freedom and shameless. When you are naked you are exposing it all. The rawness of you. So even if you have things about your physical appearance that you do not like, nudism will make you confront them and learn to accept them as what makes you unique. Instead of being ashamed, you embrace it.

Nudism has helped me physically, mentally, and spiritually. It helped me to stop seeking outside validation and to simply be present. My most fulfilling yoga sessions happen when I am nude. I feel like it is a deeper healing experience. You learn to be one and be more present. Surrender to yourself as yourself; open, honest, and vulnerable. It is time to just BE.

BareSkin Yoga

BareSkin Yoga is a practice I began to help others to be accepting of themselves in all aspects. This practice will allow you to confront everything about you; your insecurities, your fears, your highs, your lows, your most proud moments. You become more self-aware which is the key to healing. Becoming aware that nothing and no one is in your way but you. All the negative self-talk, doubt, and limiting restrictions we put on ourselves condition us to be in our own way.

When I teach, I go through each of the chakras with my flow and allow the class to feel themselves open up more and more so that by the end of the flow, they can lay and meditate on the experience and receive healing frequencies through soundbath.

Located in Atlanta, GA. Bareskin Yoga classes are Sundays at 11am and 6:30pm. I also offer a virtual class; Movement and Meditation Mondays at 7pm, which is a clothed class. I am available for private sessions as well. BareSkin options are available. Group sessions can be in person, individual sessions are virtual. Thank you for taking time out to read a little bit about me and my baby BareSkin Yoga.
